It’s definitely not subtle.
An angry bride-to-be has said her wedding photos will be ruined by a giant ad and we’d have to agree with her.
Sarah Dooley and her fiancée Andy are getting married at Leeds Town Hall in Yorkshire this weekend.
The couple, who met while at university in Leeds, chose the venue specifically so they could have their photographs taken outside after the ceremony.
“We looked at tipis, castles, tree-houses, but picked Leeds Town Hall because it’s iconic and we wanted our photos taken outside,” she told the BBC.
“Leeds is really important to us, we brought our children up here and we wanted something that represented our relationship.”
They won’t get the photos they’d been hoping for though as the Victorian building’s facade has been obscured by a fairly enormous ad promoting the World Triathlon which takes place in the town next month.
Sarah has said that she and her partner would have had their wedding somewhere else if they’d known about the ad.
A spokesperson for Leeds Town Council has said that the ad was organised weeks in advance and that it couldn’t be removed for one day as the town hall was “important for promoting major events.”
“Leeds Town Hall is the venue for hundreds of weddings each year and we always do our absolute best to make sure every couple’s day is as special as possible”, he said.
The couple said they didn’t want compensation but that they were “disappointed”.
