Burger King proposes McDonald’s truce with new McWhopper…

Kevin Beirne

The Burger King has reached out to Ronald McDonald to ask for a ceasefire in the Burger Wars. Yes, you read that right.

Burger King have come out in support of Peace One Day’s campaign to make September 21 an official day of peace – by attempting to build bridges with McDonald’s in a very creative (and hopefully delicious) way.

Meet the McWhopper – the hybrid burger of your dreams.

In an open letter to McDonald’s, Burger King described their vision for the McWhopper as including “the tastiest bits of your Big Mac and our Whopper, united in one delicious, peace-loving burger.”

Check out the letter for yourself below (click to enlarge):

In keeping with the theme of peace, they propose that customers don’t pay for the McWhopper with money but instead with a promise of making peace with someone in their life.

Unfortunately the McWhopper doesn’t look like it will be widely available, as the current proposal is to sell it for just one day at a pop-up shop in Atlanta – which is halfway between the two companies’ headquarters.

The pop-up shop would be staffed by both McDonald’s and Burger King workers who would wear a special uniform and wrap the burgers in a special packaging.
