There is nothing alarming about the following picture on first glance.
What you see is a young boy sat in a Costco shopping trolley with a sort of “are we done here, because I’ve got a zoo animal-based pop-up picture book I really need to be cracking on with” expression painted on his face. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Here’s that picture, posted to Reddit by a user named A_OBCD8663.
But look a little closer. In the background you’ll see an elderly man who, aside from his much superior choice of footwear, appears to be dressed exactly the same as the toddler in the picture. There are two possible reasons for this: it’s either an amusing coincidence that proves in many ways that fashion doesn’t really change, or blatant evidence of time travel and a freakish glitch in the matrix. We’ll let you lot be the judge (*hint*, matrix).
Commenters on the post didn’t immediately get the caption. IKauany said: “At first I thought it was because of his facial expression… It took me a while to realize there’s an old man in the picture.”
CharSmar also missed it first time round: “I thought it was because of the kids combover hair style.”
Then BWallyC stepped in to clear things up for anyone still in the dark: “Op’s son is/will be a time traveler.”
And eventually DiscoUnderpants waded in, as he/often does, to really set the record straight: “You are assuming that old guy is just a random old guy. And not your own son who has traveled back thru time to see his parents for one last time before the night vampires consume all of mankind.”
Well, that’s us sold.
