A Therme spa and resort is coming to Manchester and it looks mint
The first images of the brand new indoor water park, spa and resort coming to Manchester have been released and it looks absolutely incredible.
Therme Manchester is a £250 million development that spans 28-acres (the size of 19 footy pitches) and includes 25 swimming pools, a wave pool and over 35 different water slides; 30 saunas and steam rooms, a well-being garden, swim-up bars – it’s got everything, basically.
Being marketed by the Therme Group as “the UK’s first city-based wellbeing resort”, the idea is to recreate and maintain the tradition of an “ancient Roman spa”, fused “with an indoor tropical paradise” and taking inspiration from all over the world.
As well as the various amenities and attractions, there will be fitness and health classes as well restaurants, cafes, bars and even a ‘no children section’. The various areas of the resort will be segmented into themes: for instance, ‘Elysium’ will be designated for the thermal spa – set to become the largest in the UK.
The company – which was recently the principal sponsor of the Manchester Marathon – aim to start development on the project sometime soon, with the three-story resort replacing the current EventCity building right next to the Trafford Centre.

The German-based wellbeing group already has multiple sites around the globe, including Vienna, Bucharest, multiple locations in Germany and many more – including Manchester – on the horizon.
Plans have the park slated for a 2023 opening, with the size of this particular location set to be double the size of their Romanian resort in Bucharest. Let’s just say we’re excited to try it.
