Manchester has a lot going for it – a famed nightlife, a leading university, great shopping, iconic music, and of course Premier League rivals United and City.
But one man was so desperate to leave the Northern Powerhouse he gave himself up to police – even though he had been living in Manchester illegally for a decade.
The exasperated Iranian was so fed up of life there he walked into a station and asked if he could be sent back to the homeland.
Greater Manchester Police relayed the strange encounter via their official Twitter…
Male arrested earlier at our front desk when he demanded to be returned home to Iran as he has had enough of Manchester after 10 years.
