Man finds an abandoned trolley, adopts it, and calls it Trevor

Wheel love.

Rebecca Keane

A trolley is not just for Christmas, it’s for life.

Shopping trolleys, much like umbrellas, often get left behind and abandoned. People forget that trolleys have feelings too – they don’t like being left outside on their todd as much as anyone else does.

One Australian man did the right thing and welcomed a lonely orphaned trolley into his home and the results are truly heartwarming.

Andrew Mitchell‎ wrote a Facebook post to let the trolley’s owner, Officeworks, know of its whereabouts. It was his last attempt to get the trolley returned after the store had failed to pick it up.

To help the trolley recover from the trauma of being abandoned, kind gent Andrew adopted the trolley as one of his own, naming the cart Trevor, and bringing him on a number of adventures to make him feel wanted and loved.

Trevor’s feats with his new owner included some household chores – walking the dog and mowing the lawn – and learning to take selfies:

Eventually, Officeworks got around to picking up Trevor and returned him home to his biological parents, showing pictures of the trolley now safe and sound.
