The fierce old rivalry between Mancunians and Merseysiders may be as bitter as ever in footballing terms, but when it comes to pornography, it looks like there could be a bit of secret fandom going on.
New data released by Pornhub, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, reveals that there are more people searching the word “Liverpool” in Manchester than anywhere else in the UK.
The paper says that Mancunian porn-lovers browse content featuring “Liverpool girls” 120% more on average than the rest of the country. There was also a 105% search increase on the word “Scouse”.
This isn’t mirrored in Liverpool, though, where people are most likely to search for videos originating in their own city, rather than getting their kicks from their North West neighbours. Indeed, “Liverpool” porn is the most popular request on Merseyside. We don’t reckon that will be added to the city’s marketing material anytime soon, but it should be.
Elsewhere in the report, it was reported that the most porn-hungry city in Britain is Birmingham. According to the Birmingham Mail, who have also seen the report, the average Brummie will spend nine minutes and 37 seconds on the Pornhub site – more time than residents of anywhere else in the country.
The most searched term in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield is “lesbian”.
