OFFICIAL: Men with beards are more desirable

Good news for anyone that's rocking some facial fuzz.

If you’re a man and you’ve got some facial fuzz, be proud.

It turns out that men with beards are better partners and there’s conclusive scientific evidence to support this.

According to a study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology; 8,520 women were asked to rate men, both with and without facial hair, on a spectrum of ‘relationship longevity’. A mind-blowing 8,520 (every last one of them) preferred the men that were rocking a beard.

It turns out that men with beards were considered better long-term partners, while those with a shortage of scruff were viewed as mere short-term dalliances.

Why? Well, it turns out that beards can actually blur the lines between masculinity and femininity. A jawline that can cut glass indicates high levels of testosterone rendering a man all sorts of casual when it came to putting a ring on it.

In short, beards can mask a very masculine face which points to maturity, ergo, a better long-term suitor or they can balance out a perceived feminine face that could be construed as “not manly enough” for a life partner.

So next time your furry friend is unfurling his face forest, try to spot if it’s a decoy for his exceptionally angular jaw or if he is simply masking his more sensitive side.
