*Something about working with figures*
Cheaters come from all walks of life, but a new survey suggests people who work in certain professions may be more likely to have an extra-marital affair than others.
When Victoria Milan, a dating site for married and attached people, polled 5,658 adulterers (just a small fraction of its five million members) the results showed that 21 per cent worked in finance.
A close second were aviation professionals at 19 per cent, with doctors and nurses just behind them at 15 per cent.
The top ten cheating professions are:
- Financial (Brokers, bankers, analysts, etc.) 21%
- Aviation (Pilots, flight attendants, flight pursers) 19%
- Healthcare (Doctors, nurses, nursing assistants) 15%
- Business (CEOs, managers, secretaries) 12%
- Sports (Athletes, instructors, representatives,) 11%
- Arts (Musicians, models, actors, photographers) 7%
- Nightlife Industry (DJ, dancers, waiters) 6%
- Legal (Lawyer, secretaries, prosecutors, judges) 5%
- Communications (Journalists, public relations, communicators,) 4%
- Other sectors 2%
Speaking to the Mirror, Sigurd Vedal, founder and chief executive of Victoria Milan, said the survey proved his members are more focused on enjoying life than advancing their careers.
He said: “The survey clearly shows that even though there’s a risk to your career, having an affair at work makes life a lot more pleasant.
“At the same time, the majority of cheaters would steer clear of mixing work with pleasure – not because it damages their career, but because they are at risk of being found out, or will feel uncomfortable.”
