Primark have settled the debate over how to pronounce ‘Primark’

Are you 'Pr-eye-mark' or -Pr-eee-mark'? Only one is correct

Rich Cooper

It’s a debate that has raged for years, dividing families and countrymen, turning friends into foes, brother against brother. It’s ugly, folks.

It’s not Brexit. It’s not whether you put ketchup on your chips or to the side. It’s how you pronounce the word ‘Primark’.

Now this may not seem like the most important debate right now, given the state of the world, but trust us: it is. It’s been carving up a storm on Twitter, with people on both sides of the divide equally shocked by the other’s choice of pronunciation.

On one side, the ‘Pr-eye-mark’ people.

And on the other, the ‘Pr-eee-mark’ people.

It’s a fierce fight, let me tell ya. But there is a definitive answer, and it comes from Primark themselves.

So there you have it. It’s ‘Pr-eye-mark’, and if anyone tells you otherwise, tell ’em they’re wrong.
