This is good news for anybody with a resemblance.
With their marriage announced for later this year, it’s likely that Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle are going to dominate the headlines for the first months of 2018, ahead of the big day in May.
And where there’s hype, there is also money to be made, as lookalikes of the happy couple are finding out.
Casting agency Susan Scott’s Lookalikes has 20 doppelgangers of Meghan on its books and as their casting director recently told The Sun, they can stand to make a lot of money.
Helena Chard told them: “The demand for lookalikes of the couple is starting to escalate and after the wedding in May it’s set to boom.”
In fact, the amount you can fetch is astronomical, with the potential for around £400 for a few hours’ work and earnings reaching £2,000 in a single day.
Here’s what lookalike Sarah Mhlanga had to say to the newspaper: “When Prince Harry announced his engagement my life changed overnight. All of a sudden my husband and friends were telling me I resembled his bride-to-be but I had to google Meghan to see what all the fuss was about.
“I went from being a typical school-run mum to being stopped half a dozen times a day by strangers asking for selfies, or people on social media contacting me.”
So there you have it. If you’re one of the lucky few to be blessed to look like a Prince (or a future Princess), then you can check out the agency here.
