Researchers say that in the year 2000 the average person could stay fully focused for 12 seconds, but this has now fallen to just eight. That’s a pretty huge drop.
To put this into context, the average goldfish can keep its brain engaged for nine seconds. The show-off.
While this development isn’t a huge surprise, we were interested to read that 38% of men who took part in a recent study into attention spans showed an aptitude for multi-tasking compared to just 29% of women.
But on the other hand, the survey revealed that women have superior focus overall and are more likely to finish repetitive tasks through to the end.
