Research suggests there’s an unfair balance when it comes to oral sex

JOE

It’s possible that male resistance towards performing oral sex on women is something that develops early on in their sex lives.

According to The Independent, a study was carried out on 71 individuals aged between 16 to 18 years of age.

The research suggests that females are more likely to perform oral sex on their partner, even if they don’t want to.

The results found that although many of the teenagers felt there was equality between men and women when it came to giving and receiving oral sex, it was still considered to be a ‘bigger deal’ for men.

The questioning also proved that some of the men referred to women’s genitals with very negative language.

Vice’s “Broadly” channel recently demonstrated that this issue is not limited to 16-18-year-olds when it asked a number of men why they don’t perform oral sex on women, with the answers ranging from “I just don’t like it” to “the smell is intolerable”.

And the study conducted among 16-18-year-olds found that the female particpants said negative perception around female genitalia was a factor in women not being more forthcoming when asking their partners for oral sex.

To those men out there who don’t want to go down on a woman because they don’t like the look of her lady bits, we feel inclined to remind you that us fellas aren’t exactly endowned with the most attractive genitalia in the world.

Be a gent, eh?
