It seems the ‘She Wolf’ held her own against the sticky-fingered boars.
Shakira has claimed that she was attacked by two wild boars who stole her bag during a visit to a park in Barcelona with her son.
In a series of since-deleted videos posted to her Instagram story Wednesday, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer revealed that she had been “attacked” by the hogs, who ran off into the forest with her bag and phone.
The musician added that while the boars had “destroyed everything”, she did “stand up to them” and was able to retrieve her now-broken bag which she showed to her followers during the clip.
The star was out with her eight-year-old son, Milan, when the incident happened, asking her son during the video: “Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.”
In Spain, incidents like this can be quite common. According to The Guardian, Spanish police received over 1,000 complaints about boars in 2016. Wild boar-related incidents have also become a problem in other European countries such as Italy and even Ireland in recent years.
Earlier this year, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) urged people in Kerry to be on alert after a wild large male boar went missing.
