It seems one person took their love affair with the Great British Bake Off to a whole new – and strange – level.
One baker decided to pay a tribute to future monarch Prince George…by making a ridiculously life-like cake of the toddler.
The cake, which stands just under 3ft tall, took Lara Mason 30 hours to create.
According to The Metro, the sugary statue won her the top prize of best overall cake at the Cake International show at the NEC in Birmingham.
There’s only one small problem… the cake itself is slightly terrifying.
Posting images of the process to a Facebook group, Lara admitted they could be deemed a little creepy, saying: ‘BE WARNED!! Some of these photos are pretty creepy’.
Thankfully, she says that ‘this cake was for a decorative competition, so therefore won’t be eaten.’
Phew. If you’ve ever wanted to create your own terrifying tribute, here’s how:
Step 1
Create a body of sponge and metal.
Step 2
Cover said body with copious amounts of chocolate.
Step 3
Try not to scream in terror as you begin accentuating its features.
Step 4
Add hair. (Hint: It doesn’t make it less creepy).
Step 5
Paint in eyes so that it may look directly into your soul.
Step 6
Never sleep again.
