That was quick.
An intrepid Redditor has emerged claiming to have caught all of the Pokemon available in Pokemon Go.
User ftb_hodor has traversed the wilds of New York City, catching all 142 Pokemon available in the game.
142 Pokemon, rather than 151?! As our Game of Thrones fan explains, “5 Pokemon aren’t in [the] game yet and 3 are region-locked and not available in [the] US”.
The key to completing their Pokedex? Hatching a *lot* of eggs, as ftb_hodor elaborated on their quest to be a PokeMaster.
“I’ve hatched 200 eggs. Gotten maybe 10-15 10k eggs”, he explains, when asked about the harder to obtain 10k eggs (which only hatch after you’ve walked 10 kilometres).
However, the Redditor had bad news for those hoping they could do something similar in the coming weeks:
“Almost all of those [eggs] were pre patch,” he adds. “I’ve only seen one since the patch. Pretty positive they nerfed [to change something in a game to make it less effective] the drop rate as others have reported similar experiences”.
Still, to hatch all of those eggs took a remarkable amount of walking about New York, including a few night time forages to look for Gastlys.
How much did ftb_hodor travel in the end? In the end, our PokeMaster traveled the best part of 153km (95 miles) to catch all 142 Pokemon in the game.
Dedication.
