Well this was unexpected.
A new poll from The Sunday Times has claimed the “sunny” Hampshire city of Winchester has come out as “Britain’s best place to live”.
The home of Lucy Pinder, Jane Austen, Jack Dee and Danny Ings, The Sunday Times Best Places To Live guide dubbed the city as “practically perfect”, thanks to its historic buildings, wide selection of restaurants and excellent schools.
“Winchester has a fantastic look and feel to it,” said Councilor Angela Clear, the city’s mayor. “With the cathedral and all the fantastic restaurants I can see why it is loved by so many people. I have never heard a complaint about them.”
So there you have it. The key to a great place to live is some good schools and some nice restaurants. Who’d have thunk it’d be so simple?
