When it comes to top quality steak, only a handful of countries can be considered among the best.
And we have now found out the true number one, with Australia taking gold at the World Steak Challenge in London. Well…sort of.
The Wagyu steak that took top honours was reared in Australia, but presented by a German producer, Albers GmbH.

The UK was well represented, with two producers from England, one from Scotland and one from Northern Ireland being awarded a gold medal at the inaugural event.
