When you’re younger, your birthday is something you look forward to. As the years go by, you tend to hide from the fact that you’re *another* year older.
It’s now emerged that those who have their birthday on December 16 have drawn the shortest straw, with recent research indicating that its the worst date to have your birthday.
Why? Well, according to the Independent, its partly to do with the weather as the date falls in the depths of winter.
However, it’s mainly due to its close proximity to Christmas. This means that any birthday celebrations on that day are overshadowed.
Incredibly, over a quarter of those who have their birthday on this day receive their present (as it’s often a joint one) in festive paper.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, July 28 is said to be the best day to have your birthday, largely because it falls slap bang in the middle of summer.
