“That wave is like the whole ocean sucking in on itself and exploding into this avalanche of power,” says Alastair McLeod.
Surfing it is probably the last thing you’d want to do given that hellish description of Tasmania’s deadliest wave.
But to McLeod it obviously sounds like a challenge.
Not only did he try to ride this enormous wave – but he tackled the monster on a windsurfing board instead of a standard surf board.
“It’s going to blast you to pieces if you fall off,” he cheerily predicts, before plunging into tempestuous ocean.
