This rousing footage of a whole pub singing Mr Brightside for their late friend has gone viral

Well this is just magnificent.

There’s two things we know most surely about our cousins in Ireland – they don’t forget their friends, and know how to have a rollicking good time. It’s part of the reason why an Irish wake can go from solemn to jubilant in a matter of minutes.

This video of Kerry man Brian O’Sullivan leading a truly inspiring rendition of The Killers’ 2004 hit Mr. Brightside in a pub in Killorglin is a perfect example of how a close-knit community can come together to celebrate, rather than commiserate, a late friend.

To suggest that Mr O’Sullivan knows how to get the crowd going is something of an understatement. You’d follow the man into battle…

Peter Teahan, who posted the original video told JOE, “A local man, Ger Foley, was buried that day aged 45. He had cystic fibrosis. Brian O’Sullivan on the counter was paying tribute to him.”

He certainly did that, Peter.

Thanks to Cahir Conway for sending this one our way.
