Always stay alert
A travel influencer has warned people of a passport mistake that has seen people miss out on thousands.
TikTok traveller Sabrina Escapes, who dubs herself as the “Queen of holidays”, has warned her fans of the dangers of getting novelty stamps in their passports as they can potentially make the document null and void.
Novelty stamps have become increasingly popular for people travelling around the world but they could cause you major issues further down the line.
“You’re going to want to think twice before you do it – in fact, don’t even do it!” Sabrina warned her 180,000 followers.
“It’s becoming increasingly popular to get these novelty stamps as you’re travelling around amazing places around the world. I admit they do look pretty cool, but if you get these in your passport – which is a government document – it makes it invalid.”
“It’s like putting a fake stamp on any other document of ID you have, for example a birth certificate – you wouldn’t be doing anything to that would you?”

What should you do if you want novelty stamps?
Of course there’s absolutely nothing wrong with collecting novelty stamps if you want to however instead of putting them in your official government document, Sabrina suggested an alternative.
She said: “If you want to get one of these cool stamps, maybe put it into something like a travel journal. Hopefully you’ve seen this in time and you don’t already have one of these stamps in your passport.”
Reacting to her advice one person said: “Why would anyone do this?” while another added: “Honestly this should be common sense.”
