What book were they reading Dan, 50 Shades of Grey?
Live television comes with all sorts of potential pitfalls and when you’re broadcasting late at night with the Copacabana beach in the background, then you should be prepared for anything.
Dan Walker was reporting live from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on the BBC on Thursday night when viewers couldn’t help but be drawn to a couple in the background who looked distinctly like they were… doing something that’s also the name of a famous cocktail, if you get our drift.
Dan could’ve pretended that he didn’t know what was going on, but instead he responded brilliantly, first suggesting that they were hugging, then reading a book, all with the knowing look of a parent who’s not quite ready to have THAT awkward conversation with their child just yet.
It's live TV. Anything can happen! 😂 https://t.co/1bqccKLhDy

Excellently handled by an excellent broadcaster. Well played, Dan.
People on Twitter thought the whole thing was piss funny…

This is not fair. I can only get BBC 1 and 2 with that angry looking woman and miss out on this pure brilliance..
