Flying first class is an experience beyond the financial means of most airline passengers.
If you thought that was expensive, then you can only imagine what flying in what has been dubbed “the world’s most exclusive cabin in the sky” would do to your wallet.
Etihad Airways has launched a new route connecting Mumbai and New York City via Abu Dhabi – a route that has the most expensive ticket in the world for a commercial scheduled flight.
For approximately $38,000 (approximately £26,000) for a one-way ticket, passengers can avail of The Residence by Etihad Airways, where, it claims, a truly unique and bespoke experience is delivered with complete discretion and limitless hospitality.
Containing a living room, separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom, The Residence is the only three-room private cabin in the sky and has been “created by leading interior designers and hospitality experts who understand the discernment and sophistication expected by the private traveller”.
With all that, it may come as a surprise to learn that The Residence is designed for a maximum of two guests, whose needs will be catered to by a butler at their service and who will be treated to breakfast in bed, signature cognac service and premium in-flight entertainment.

Here’s the trailer for the service:
We’d be happy with a just little more leg room, to be honest.
