Woof.
There was a bit of drama at Crufts this year when a stage invader gatecrashed a trophy presentation, but generally, it is what you expect a dog show to be – reserved, professional, and full of cute canines.
A whole other bunch of pets were on display this weekend, but they’re not quite as cute as those at Crufts.
Well, you would be feeling a bit woof to if you were entered as a participant for the 2018 World’s Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, San Francisco Bay Area.
Well, if you’re going to compete then you better win and that accolade goes to an English bulldog named Zsa Zsa.
Here she is.
The nine-year-old’s muscular, rounded front legs and an underbite made her standout from the rest of the crowd.
The dog’s owner, Megan Brainard, found the dog through a pet-finding site and she has now won $1,500 for Zsa Zsa’s win.
Other contestants included a blackhead-covered Chinese Crested-Dachshund mutt, a bulldog mix with excess wrinkly skin and a Pekingese named Wild Thang.
Here’s a look at some of the contestants.
The competition is now in its 30th year and it exists so owners can flaunt the imperfections of their dogs and hopefully earn a bit of money in the process.
