Damn, when the police unit roasts you on Twitter, you know you’ve messed up
A Lamborghini owner was left to walk home “in tears” after police seized his supercar for driving in an anti-social manner while the car was untaxed and after two previous warnings.
The £400,000 Lamborghini Aventador was stopped by the Beds, Cambs & Herts Roads Policing Unit while on the A1 in the early hours of Monday morning.
When stopped for the third and final time, it became clear that the driver had not paid his tax and when asked why he simply said, “because it’s too expensive”.
The irony of the statement was not lost on the police, who used a head-in-hand emoji to illustrate the point on Twitter.

The driver, who had been warned twice before for causing “alarm” and “distress” on the road, was on his way to a car meet in South Mimms, Hertfordshire when his illegal run came to an end.
Upon reading that the driver was not only stopped in his tracks but apparently cried on his way home, people on social media relished the opportunity to poke fun; one commenter summed things up perfectly: “All flash and no cash”.
The driver, who has. not been identified, has until the end of the week to try and reclaim his car but he will have to provide documents proving he has paid the vehicle’s excise duty.
Drivers would typically have to pay around £2,245 tax on this kind of car in the first year of owning it and approximately £490 a year for the next five years.
