Rudy Giuliani’s second most embarrassing moment of 2020, after Borat 2
The infamous Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference was one of the most entertaining TV moments of 2020 – and now it is to be immortalised in a documentary
The press conference was held by Donald Trump’s team on November 8th, a few days after the Presidential election. Despite the fact that Joe Biden had a clear lead on Trump by this point, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani addressed the press and made unfounded claims about electoral fraud.
As the press conference was starting, the major US TV network called Pennsylvania, and therefore the election, for Joe Biden. In a scene worthy of Ricky Gervais, Rudy Giuliani found out by being told by the journalists in front of him.
Donald Trump himself had tweeted about the conference beforehand, implying that it was taking place at the Four Seasons hotel in Philadelphia, but it turned out it was to take place outside a business named ‘Four Seasons Total Landscaping’, next to an adult book store called ‘Fantasy Island’ and across the street from a crematorium. Many have suggested that the venue was booked by mistake, thinking it was actually the prestigious hotel.
The video has already become an iconic moment in American politics, but now the whole story of Four Seasons Total Landscaping is to be told in a documentary film.
The film – appropriately titled Four Seasons Total Documentary – will be “apolitical,” according to director Christopher Stoudt.
“After such a hard year, everyone needed a moment to laugh,” says Stoudt. “Little did we know it would come from a press conference that took place across the street from a crematorium (down the road from a sex shop).”
The film will be produced by Glen Zipper and Sean Stuart, who also handled worked on Oscar-winning high school football documentary Undefeated.
