Arsenal fans are concerned by Alexis Sanchez’s reaction to Shkodran Mustafi’s goal

'Something is very wrong'

It looks increasingly likely that Arsenal might miss out on a top finish this season.

Their draw at home to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon saw them miss the opportunity to narrow the gap on the Champions League places, with Arsene Wenger’s men remaining in sixth.

It’s still unclear if Wenger will remain at the club beyond the end of the season, with supporters’ calls for him to step down as manager growing increasingly louder. Added to this, there’s also uncertainty over whether Alexis Sanchez will remain at the club.

The Chilean is yet to sign a new deal with the club, and latest reports have linked him with a move to London rivals, Chelsea. Sanchez has also become visibly frustrated by some of his team’s recent failings, and following reports that he stormed out of a training session, there were one or two questions about his attitude and commitment to the club.

On the pitch at least, he remains as dedicated as ever, as pointed out by Gary Neville in the build up to Sunday’s game. Not only does he continue to bust a gut to try and (almost singlehandedly at times) take Arsenal forward, he also expects the best from his teammates.

Following Shkodran Mustafi’s equaliser on Sunday, Sanchez followed the German to join in the celebrations. As the likes of Mesut Özil and Granit Xhaka congratulate Mustafi, a frustrated Sanchez can be seen urging more Arsenal players to join the celebrations.

We’d love to show you the footage, but Premier League broadcast rules state that we’re not allowed to. You’ll have to make do with these…

Sanchez, seen over Xhaka’s right shoulder, can be seen gesturing to some of his teammates…

Before congratulating Mustafi himself…

Some of those watching the game also noticed it, too…
