Haye hasn’t wasted time after his successful comeback – he already wants another shot at Fury
David Haye marked his boxing comeback with a victory over Joe Fournier, beating his follower Londoner by unanimous decision by the judges.
However, the 40-year-old said that he was holding things backs on the night, as he wants to save himself for a proper professional comeback against two-time heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson Fury.
David Haye spectacularly called for a fight with Tyson Fury after winning on his comeback on Saturday night.

Following his first fight in three years, Haye teased that “There’s one fighter I’d come back to professional boxing for. That’s Tyson Fury.”
He went on to say: “When Tyson Fury really wants a challenge, the fans want to see it, the fans want to see Tyson Fury facing someone who can knock him out” – even going so far as to say “That big fat dosser, I know his kryptonite, I know what he can’t handle. He wants a fight? ‘The Hayemaker’ will come for you.”
The two were supposed to fight all the way back in 2013 (remember that utterly comical press conference), however, Haye suffered a shoulder injury which essentially plighted the rest of his fighting career before retiring in 2018.
Regardless, it seems for the appetite for that fight has never gone anyway and Haye still believes he could take on ‘The Gypsy King’ and knock him out, adding: “I know that he knows it, his dad knows it, his uncle knows it.”

As you can see, despite admitting that Fury has only got “bigger and better” since their last scheduled meeting, he still insists: “I know his style. I know what he does well. My attributes don’t work well for his style. Him and his team know that.
He joked that Fury’s team – who we recently spoke to regarding Tyson’s possible switch to MMA – “probably think I’m old so they probably will take the fight” but that it doesn’t phase him; he insists that he’s “looking for the biggest fight out there – and you get no bigger than 6ft 9in Tyson Fury.”
He concluded his call out by declaring, “I’m ready to do big things.” Will we finally get that fight the better part of a decade later?
