Officials were notified, but nothing happened
With the validity of Wednesday’s Denmark vs England game still being disputed across the country, new information is constantly coming to light. Yesterday, after news that Schmeichel’s eyes were obstructed from a laser pen, a petition arose for the match to be redone. But now, Schmeichel himself has revealed what he said to the referee Danny Makkelie.
“I did not experience it on the penalty kick because it was behind me on my right side. But I did experience it in the second half.
“I told the referee. And he went to say something to one of the other officials,” says Schmeichel.

His father also spoke out about the penalty with beIN SPORTS:
“He made a really big mistake on the penalty, and this will be debated for a long, long time. It’s a hard one to take because it’s not a penalty,” he said.
“I would have been much more relaxed and acceptable if they had scored one of the many chances that they created, but unfortunately, the referee made a big mistake in my opinion.”
UEFA have now charged England for several reasons, one being the use of the laser pen. However, the metropolitan police have insisted that “it is not yet a police matter.”
So on England’s winning goal we have:
1. Play should have been stopped by ref as there were 2 balls on pitch and extra ball was interfering with play
2. Penalty a clear dive & never a penalty
3. Fans shone laser in Schmeichel’s face as he fumbled save

England‘s win over Denmark has been called into question entirely. Though passionate fans insist that the same stuff happens to them, many others claim England deliberately cheated. Due to an overly aggressive first half, Denmark initially looked to win the semi-finals. However, Simon Kjaer’s own goal equalised the scoreboard between the two teams.
England beat Denmark on Wednesday night (7 July), coming from behind after Mikkel Damsgaard’s free-kick gave Denmark the lead. After Sterling’s dubious fall inside the box, Kane managed to secure England’s spot in the finals. The biggest Euros win in 55 years.
England now face Italy at Wembley on Sunday, hoping to bring it home to an eager country.
