Argentina have missed him at the World Cup
Just a few days before the World Cup started, the news broke that Manuel Lanzini had torn ligaments in his knee and would miss the tournament, leaving Argentina without their secondary playmaker.
West Ham also lamented the news that the fulcrum of their attack would be out of action for an indefinite period of time.
There has been a lot of speculation about when he will return, but that’s all it is – speculation.
Last night Lanzini set himself a target, as he tweeted: “Some English media have said that my injury will make me miss next season, that there were problems with the surgery… none of this is true. The surgery went really well. Although I don’t want to set a date, I expect to be ready to play at the beginning of 2019. Thank you.”

Argentina just about managed without him, but they have Lionel Messi to rely on. West Ham do not have the same luxury.
