Sergi wants his shinnies back
Brentford‘s Sergi Canos was one of several who played their socks off in the enthralling 3-3 draw with Liverpool yesterday, as the newly-promoted side gave us possibly one of the best games we’ll see all season.
However, it isn’t his socks he was worried about, as the former Liverpool man took Twitter following the game to ask for shin pads back. This transaction usually goes the other way around.
Guys please I left my shin pads on the touch line and some security guy gave them away to you. They are very personal with my family pictures. Can someone help me find them? I will give you boots or shirts instead 🙏🥲

The 24-year-old put out his appeal to Bees fans on social media, explaining how he had left them on the side of the pitch and that a security guard had passed them to a fan. A nice touch from the steward who seemingly wasn’t to know.
As you can see, while he could easily get a new pair from the club’s kit man, it is the pictures of his family that make these shinnies special. Better still, the lucky individual could end up more fortunate than ever as the Spanish winger promised to trade them with a pair of “boots or shirts” in return. Win-win.
Canos is now one of Brentford’s longest-serving players, having initially joined them on loan from the Merseyside academy back in 2015, before getting a permanent move by way of Norwich in 2017. Coming up against his old team will no doubt have been special too.
So here’s us doing our part: unidentified Brentford fan, give Sergi his shinnies back – he seems like a top bloke and you’re up either way.
