They’re lapping it up.
When will Piers Morgan learn? The professional contrarian and proud Arsenal fan took great delight in Tottenham’s bad start to tonight’s Champions League knockout tie.
Spurs found themselves 2-0 down to Juventus in the first ten minutes of tonight’s game, after some sloppy marking at a free kick gave Gonzalo HiguaÃn enough space to watch the ball onto his right foot as he volleyed it back across goal and past Lloris.
Ben Davies then clattered into Federico Bernadeschi in the penalty area a few minutes later with a clumsy but not malicious challenge, handing Juventus the perfect opportunity to double their lead before the ten minute mark. Gonzalo HiguaÃn made no mistake, converting from the spot.
Arsenal fans across the country were of course enjoying the match at this point, and there were millions of identical tweets to Piers Morgan’s. But when you’re as famous and have as many followers as Piers, you have to be prepared for these things to come back to bite you.
Spurs pulled the game back to 2-2, showing the sort of mental strength that Arsenal really lacked on Saturday during the north London derby.

With Arsenal not even competing in the Champions League this season, Spurs fans had an easy response to win this war of words.
When are Arsenal playing?

Some went for the rather cruder joke.
A bit premature again Piers!

He should expect this by now, but it probably won’t stop him the next time Spurs go behind in a game.
