At first, we were led to believe that Amir Khan was set to make more than ten times as much as his lesser-known campmates on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
But it turns out that the boxer is actually earning significantly more than the £250,000 first estimated.
Khan, who bottled the first Bushtucker Trial of the series earlier this week, is actually going to become the best-paid contestant in the history of the show, according to the Sun.
The 30-year-old is reportedly set to eclipse Katie Price and take home a fee in the region of £400,000 for his time in the jungle.
“Amir was a great get, but he came at a hefty cost. He’s going to be the best-paid celeb they’ve ever had,” a source told the newspaper.

“There have been rumours of huge sums being paid to the celebrities but they’re often highly exaggerated.
“Katie Price got somewhere close, but Amir’s is slightly higher again.
“He’s a huge name in sport and current after his recent marriage problems.
“He has plenty to gain in improving his public image — but he also wasn’t doing it for peanuts. ITV have dug deep.”
Khan hit the headlines on the night he went into the jungle after an old tweet of his, in which he claimed that he’d never lower himself to an appearance on the show, resurfaced but was promptly deleted.
The former unified light-welterweight world champion insists that he is not done with boxing and, while he is absolutely raking it in by I’m a Celeb standards, his £400,000 is still significantly less than his career-high $9 million which he received for his last bout, a brutal knockout defeat to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in 2016.
“I’m still a boxer, I’m training but there’s no fights on,” Khan said, via the Mirror.
“So I thought, ‘I’ve got time to do this show, so why not?’
“I’m only going to be away from training and home a few weeks. I’ll use it as a detox at the same time.”
