The left-back is fit but he didn’t even make the bench.
Despite the fact that Danny Rose featured for England in their recent friendly internationals against Germany and Brazil, the full-back was left out of the Tottenham squad for their 2-0 defeat in the North London derby.
After recently returning from injury, Rose was expected to be a part of Pochettino’s plans, but he didn’t even make the 18-man squad.
Given the fact that this is one of Spurs’ biggest games of the season, the decision will raise further doubts over Rose’s long-term future at the club.
During the summer, the 27-year-old was highly critical of Tottenham’s dealings in the transfer window.
In an explosive interview, Rose said that: “I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me. Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don’t want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal. I will say this too, I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I have been away for over 10 years now and I don’t get to see my mum that often. I’m not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I’d have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.”
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the former Leeds United player and his absence from the Tottenham squad has only increased speculation that he could be set for a move to Old Trafford.
If Rose does join United for a reported £50m, it might signal the end of Luke Shaw’s career at Old Trafford.
This being said, Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the England international but his absence from the Tottenham squad didn’t go unnoticed.

Rose omitted by Spurs. Fully fit.

Interesting that Danny Rose is training with Tottenham players 'who aren't involved' today. No secret he wants to join United next year. #mufc

Danny Rose out of the Spurs squad for big derby game. Definitely on the move in Summer, would have him as United's new left back no worries. #MUFC #THFC

Wouldn't surprise me if we make a move for Danny Rose in January. Out of favour at Spurs and José clearly doesn't rate Luke Shaw #MUFC
