Ford vs Hulk set for O2 Arena in April 2022

This just in: two very large men set to take chunks out of each other

‘The Scariest man on the Planet’ versus the ‘Iranian Hulk’ – there couldn’t be a more enticing sounding fight.

But you may well have not have heard of either athlete.

One is a Hollywood actor, who is massive, not far shy of seven-foot-tall, and almost 150kgs. And he’s fighting someone even bigger.

The bout, officially billed as Ford vs Hulk, sees bodybuilder and Fast & Furious actor Martyn Ford take on Iranian bodybuilder Sajad Gharibi who has 70 pounds on him and likes to smash bones with his bare first and bend frying pans for fun. The 29-year-old weighs 390lb (176kgs). Ford tips the scales at 320 (145kgs).

The literal clash of the titans is scheduled for April 2, 2022, at London’s O2 Arena and may go some way to sating fight-fans waiting on Fury vs Joshua and Eddie Hall vs Hafthor Bjornsson. Both are on hold.

As well as being in the Fast & Furious 9, Ford, who stands at six foot eight, has been in Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Final Score.

The 39-year-old Englishman is commonly referred to as ‘The Scariest Man on the Planet’.

Due to his size, it’s not hard to see why.

Ford has told his followers on Instagram that he “can’t promise you the most technical fight in the world but I will promise you that I will bring my absolute everything and turn this into an event you will never forget.”

So, who is the man they call the ‘The Iranian Hulk’?

Well, just look at him.

While the mask is very Bane-esque, Gharibi is no movie character. He’s a real-life monster who weighs almost as much as the average car engine.

Gharibi has also accepted his first professional callout from the UFC’s Brian Ortega, however, the fight with Ford had already been accepted and paperwork drawn-up.

Ortega weighs approximately 24olbs less than Gharibi but it is thought he will give him a decent scrap due to his superior fighting skills.

Like Gharibi, Ford has never competed professionally in any disciple.

But while their boxing skills might be on par, Ford has a major reach advantage. He towers over the Hulk, who is six inches shorter.

And he’s well-motivated. Ford claims that “things have been said that can’t be taken back, by numerous people in his circle”.

“This to me is very personal”.

The showdown between Ford and the Hulk is certain to be more spectacle than a showcase of the sweet science, but with two fighters this big it is sure to be, quite literally, a huge clash.

We’ve had Tyson vs Roy Jones, Holyfield vs Belfort – we’re even getting another chapter in the Paul brothers saga if you see fit to call it boxing – but Ford vs Hulk is now the foremost exhibition in our minds.
