Drunk football is a real thing in Norway and it looks horrendous

Each scorer is breathalysed to ensure they're drunk enough for the goal to count

Ah the eternal struggle – whether to play five-a-side with your buddies or spend the evening on the lash?

Now you can combine the two hallmarks of a great night – football and pinting – in this new phenomenon coming from Norway.

OK, the concept of playing football drunk is not exactly a groundbreaking invention but it’s probably never been organised to quite the extent of this boozy five-a-side.

The two teams flip the script by stocking up on drink before the game and continue to keep their buzz going because they need to have a certain blood alcohol concentration for a goal to be allowed.

The scorer is tested with a breathalyser to ensure that they’re drunk enough for the strike to register on the scoreboard.

Mounting a comeback from 3-0 down was no problem for the locked lads in blue and red, who went on to win this particular game 4-3.

It’s probably not an activity that you should be trying every week and frankly to us, being force fed tequila before careering around on an indoor pitch and throwing up by a wall sounds pretty terrible, but hey, who are we to judge?
