Manchester, united. This is inspiring, comforting and utterly brilliant.
There are certain eccentricities, phrases and quirks that define every city in the world, but in the case of Manchester, there are so many to choose from.
The heinous attacks on the Arena were a desperate effort to attack the very values that define, inspire and shape this city, but as others have wonderfully said, that will never happen.
Like so may cities around Britain, Manchester is proud to be a multi-ethnic one that has genuinely shaped, impacted and defined not only Britain, but the world at large.
Whether that’s the industrial revolution, iconic music or a textbook example of multi-culturalism at its very best in the community, that sense of identity and local pride will never fade or wilt in the face of terror.
As thousands of people gathered to mourn those 22 people that were tragically taken too soon, local poet Tony Walsh somehow managed to find the words to describe an event that’s beyond comprehension.
This is simply breathtaking.
Manchester, forever.
