Police are investigating a car believed to be linked to the Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a 100m cordon has been put in place in the Banff Road area of Manchester as they investigate a white Nissan Micra in Rusholme.

Abedi killed 22 people after detonating an improvised explosive at Manchester Arena on 22 May.

“We are very interested in anything people can tell us about the movements of this car, and who was in it, over the past months,” Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson said.

“We are also interested in any information about who may have had access to the car or who may have gone to and from it.”

Manchester Royal Infirmary is still open, but people have been evacuated from nearby hospital accommodation.

Police have also recently released new CCTV images of Abedi carrying a large blue suitcase and are appealing for any information.
