Stormzy calls David James an ‘absolute d**khead’ following Mark Sampson ruling

Stormzy hadn't forgotten James' Eni Aluko tweet following Sampson's sacking

Stormzy has criticised the FA and former goalkeeper David James as Mark Sampson, the recently sacked manager of England’s women’s team, was found to have made remarks to two players which were deemed “discriminatory on the grounds of race”.

The FA’s chief executive Martin Glenn issued an apology to Drew Spence and Eni Aluko after barrister Katharine Newton ruled Sampson had made comments which she described as “ill-judged attempts at humour”.

Prior to Wednesday’s ruling, Sampson had been cleared of wrongdoing in relation to discriminatory comments by Newton’s initial report and an internal inquiry.

In a strongly worded string of tweets, Stormzy appeared to criticise the way in which the FA had handled the matter and those that had originally doubted Aluko’s claims about the remarks.

Sampson was dismissed from his role last month in relation to ‘inappropriate and unacceptable’ behaviour during a previous role. At the time of his sacking, former England international James tweeted the following about Aluko.

Quoting that tweet, Stormzy followed his earlier tweets by describing James as an ‘absolute dickhead’.
