The retailer said the extra £5 can provide children with nutritious meals at home each day
Marcus Rashford has thanked Marks and Spencer for bolstering the Government’s weekly £15 School Meal Vouchers to £20.
The retailer announced on Friday that the extra £5 would be enough to provide children in England with enough nutritious meals at home on a daily basis, and also tweeted a kids’ breakfast and lunch planner, put together by senior nutritionist Laura Street.
Rashford shared the tweet on his own Twitter account while thanking M&S for their efforts in the process.

After forcing the government into a U-turn on policy for Free School Meals last year, the Manchester United and England footballer has again called on Boris Johnson to do more to help after widely criticised images showing the contents of a food parcel intended for a family were circulated online this week.
Twitter user @RoadsideMum posted a photo of the food hamper she was sent that she said was meant to feed her children for 10 days. The value of the contents came to around £5 and was distributed instead of sending parents £30 in vouchers to spend on food for their children.
Rashford’s England teammate, Chelsea defender Reece James, also labelled it ‘unacceptable’ and, in a powerful tweet, highlighting the difference between the parcel and how much food can be provided by a charity with a £30 donation.
