Tiger Woods taken to hospital after being pulled from car after collision in Los Angeles

Firefighters required the jaws of life to cut Woods from the vehicle

Tiger Woods has been taken to hospital after being involved in a car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.

The golfer was driving on his own near Rancho Palos Verdes when his vehicle flipped over, with firefighters later freeing him from the car using the jaws of life. No other vehicle is said to have been involved in the incident.

Though his exact condition is still unclear, reports claim Woods sustained injuries from the crash.

A statement from LA County Sheriff’s department confirmed the crash and the golfer’s involvement.

“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes,” the statement read.

“The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.

“The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick “Tiger” Woods.

“Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.

“The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASF Lomita Station.”
