Uber driver explains how he made £62,000 in six months despite barely driving

How is this possible?

Confucius famously said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

While we doubt he was making reference to the Uber drivers born thousands of years after his passing, the Chinese philosopher may as well have been.

American driver Joseph Ziayee showed his true entrepreneurial spirit by making himself $90,000 (£62,000) in six months despite barely ever getting behind the wheel.

Tech Insider reports that a foot injury made driving tough and convinced Ziayee to look for alternative revenue streams…leading to him making $20,000 in his first month in the job through referring new drivers to the company.

In that month, he only gave one ride to a passenger. One.

He claims the most important element is keeping in touch with all the drivers he helps refer, explaining: “You need to be able to help [potential drivers] if they hit obstacles.”

It’s not the job he initially signed up for, but it’s definitely full-time work. And it’s proving very lucrative.
