Thomas Byron Stemen was caught on CCTV sneaking up behind his victim
A man who stabbed a woman with a syringe filled with his own semen at a US supermarket has been jailed for 10 years.
Katie Peters was returning her shopping trolley at Christopher’s Fine Foods in Maryland when Thomas Byron Stemen jabbed her in the buttocks on February 18 last year.
CCTV footage – later seen by police – shows Peters carrying the cart as Stemen sneaks up behind her.
When Peters turns around, she can be seen looking at the floor in an attempt to understand what has happened.
Stemen also looks at the floor and reportedly told her: “I know it feels like a bee sting, doesn’t it?”
The 51-year-old later admitted assaulting Peters. He was charged after police were shown the footage, Anne Arundel County Police said.
Peters later called her son when she started to feel a burning sensation and found a puncture wound on her backside and later told Fox5 : “I have no clue what was in that needle. It could be rat poison, HIV, I don’t know what’s in that needle.”
Stemen had previously been served a warrant in 1999 as a fugitive from justice, according to Maryland online court records, The Sun reported.
