BBC’s new serial killer show looks really intense and addictive

Paul Moore

If you like Luther, The Missing and Line of Duty, this should grab you.

The last time we saw Richard Dormer tackle a villain was when his character in Game of Thrones, Lord Beric Dondarrion, was igniting his sword to take on the army of the dead, but in his new show, Dormer is using a different approach to confront evil.

As mentioned previously, we’re keeping a close eye on Rellik because the premise sounds very interesting. Basically, the new BBC drama will tell the story of a serial killer in reverse.

If that’s not enough to pique your interest then you’ll be delighted to know that the creators of The Missing, Harry and Jack Williams, are the minds behind this one.

Rellik (killer spelled backwards) aims to flip the serial killer genre on its head. What makes a serial killer? Or the cop who is compelled to relentlessly track them down? What are the events that form a person into the human being they will become – killer or cop?

Unlike other TV dramas, Rellik starts with the killer being caught but this six-part case is far from closed.

As the drama moves backwards in time, we get to see that not everything is clear-cut regarding the crime itself and the killer.

Rellik airs on BBC 1 on 11th September and here’s the gripping trailer.
