Morgan Freeman calls out ‘heckler’ during SAG Awards acceptance speech

James Dawson

You wouldn’t want to be that guy.

If I had to draw up a list of people I wouldn’t want to be publically called out by, it’s safe to say Morgan Freeman would be pretty high on the list.

He’s one of the most well loved actors in Hollywood, not to mention the dressing down would be in that voice.

So, as much as they obviously deserved it, you’ve got to feel for the unlucky person who made the mistake of talking over Freeman, as he was about to give his  ‘Life Achievement’ acceptance speech at the SAG Awards.

The 80-year-old actor was about to address the crowd when he became distracted by somebody talking in the front row. All cameras were on him but he decided to address the heckler.

“Hey … I’m talking to you. Yeah, hey,” he said.

“Okay, well you just stand out to me. That’s all,” Freeman added.

When the person in question had got the message and shut up, he then returned to the matter at hand.

Then speaking to the crowd, he said: “These moments in one’s life usually will call for an entire litany of thank yous.

“I can’t do that because I don’t know all of your names, so I won’t try.”

He thanked his family and his business partner, before adding: “This is beyond an honour, this is a place in history.”

You can’t say he doesn’t deserve it.
