Channel 4’s Hunted is on the lookout for new contestants

Charlie Herbert

The hit show is back for a new series, and is looking for “ordinary” people.

One of TV’s most unique shows is returning for another tense series of hiding and hunting. Yes, that’s right, Channel 4’s Hunted is back, and they’re looking for contestants for the new edition of the show.

The concept is simple: vanish. The show sees 14 people try to go on the run as refugees for 25 days, evading the capture of expert hunters and surveillance pros. If the refugees can reach the extraction point at the end of the 25 days, then they win a share a £100,000.

But if you think this is for you, be warned, you won’t be on the run from just any old hunters. An expert team of former police officers and intelligence officers will be trying to track you down, using every trick in the book.

The show’s producers said: “Have you ever wondered if you’ve got what it takes to disappear and go on the run, testing your wits to evade capture from some of the best hunters on the planet?

“We’re looking for aspiring ‘fugitives’ of all ages to take part and do whatever it takes to disappear in 21st century Britain.

“Perhaps you fancy your chances by going it alone, or maybe you’d like to escape with your family, friends or colleagues.

“A prize of £100,000 will be shared equally between the fugitives who successfully evade capture.”

A statement on the application page reads: “We’re looking for ordinary people to go on the run and try to disappear in one of the most watched nations on Earth.

“If you had to disappear tomorrow, for whatever reason – with some of the world’s best investigators looking for you, and some of the most cutting edge technology tracking you, could you just vanish?”

To apply you’ll need to be 18 or older, and along with the online form you will need to send a short video introducing yourself and explaining why you’d like to go on the show.

You’ll be going on the run in October this year and will need to be available for between four and six weeks during production. You’ve not got long either to get your application in, with the closing date on 12 June.

So if you reckon you can vanish from society for almost 4 weeks, and fancy a shot at £100,000, you can find out more and apply here.
