That’s not Scarlett Johansson….
On Monday at E3, Square Enix revealed the trailer for their big new Avengers game. Much like Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 from last year, many Marvel fans hope that this will be the big triple-A game that brings their comic book heroes to life.
And the trailer does look pretty cool – the main Avengers from the movies are all there (apart from Hawkeye, for some reason), in a big action scene. And there’s an interesting story set-up, with the Avengers disbanding, and having to reform to face a new threat. Seems like a pretty solid basis for a big, mainstream modern video game.
But did something seem rather, well, off to you?
That’s because they don’t have the images rights to the film actors – so they don’t look like Scarlett Johnasson, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr et al.
This isn’t a spin-off or tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – instead, it is own stand-alone game. But still, it has irked many fans.
Dude…all I want is a GOOD AVENGERS GAME
Just watched the trailer for the Avengers game announced at E3. Hurt my heart seeing the voice acting, graphics, and gameplay be such of a let down.

The problem, for me at least, with that Avengers game trailer is that for the past ten years the MCU actors have become so synonymous with those characters that any on-screen version that isn’t them just feels kinda fake. Coming right off the back of Endgame doesn’t help.
