In 1993, a little game called FIFA International Soccer was released. Of course, there had been football games before, but EA’s series would change the nature of digitised kickabouts forever. We’ve come along way from those early 90s, 16 bit graphics. Now the release of the new FIFA game is as big an event for footy fans as the transfer window or the FA Cup final.
FIFA‘s stature as an esport also continues to grow. FIFA 18 has been included the Gfinity Elite Series for the first time, bring together some of the world’s best players to compete for the prestigious title. We’re heading into the FIFA semifinals where Fnatic, EnVyUs, UniLad and Method will battle it out to claim victory at the Elite Series Season 3 on the 27th April – you can watch the games unravel live from the arena in Fulham Broadway in London, or on Facebook.
