Apple computer users, beware.
A form of malware that locks computer files before demanding a fee for their release is said to have successfully targeted Apple computers.
According to security researchers from Palo Alto Networks, this is the first time that Macs have been hit by ransomware.
As reported by the BBC, the KeRangers malware was discovered hiding in a version of a BitTorrent client called Transmission.
While it is unknown how many people have been affected by it, Apple, along with the makers of Transmission, have taken steps to prevent the malware’s spread.
